Bleu Rose Ltd. has released
Black & Bleu v10.0, its final release of the error code analyzer. The company has also decided to stop development of all its Mac applications, citing “the shrinking number of Mac users … and the apparently significant number of thieves willing to steal … coupled with Apple’s seeming lack of concern about compatibility across its product versions and the alarming problem with its software quality.” Bleu Rose said it “will continue to exist but with a much different product direction in the future.”
Black & Bleu v10.0 features the addition of 139 error codes, for a total of 8,756, as well as a new export function that allows the creation of a TSV (Tab Separated Value) file with error numbers, names, category and Apple’s explanation as listed in the software’s database. In support of the latter, Bleu Rose has also added more detailed error code explanations. Pricing is US$29 for the Standard version and $129 for the Pro edition, which adds the file export feature. Upgrades for the Standard version are $19 as a download or $31 on CD; Pro upgrades are $75 or $87, respectively. Upgrades from Standard to Pro are $100. Mac OS X v10.1.5 is required.
