Adobe Systems Inc. on Wednesday announced the release of Adobe Acrobat 7.0 software, the latest version of its software application series for creating files in Portable Document Format (PDF). Improvements in the new version include the ability to assemble documents from multiple sources, create intelligent forms, collaborate on projects outside of the corporate firewall and more.
Acrobat 7.0 Professional offers special features for technical and creative organizations that rely on special software for CAD and publishing. Acrobat 7.0 Standard is aimed at general business applications. Acrobat 7 is available for Mac OS X v10.2.8 or higher in Professional and Standard versions for US$449 and $299 respectively; upgrades from previous versions are also available. A Windows-only “Acrobat Elements” product is also available for volume licensing only, and Acrobat Reader remains available — including a new beta version specifically for Linux.
