4D Inc. on Tuesday released version 5.4 of
WebSTAR V, which offers ClamAV e-mail virus scanning for the 4D Mail portion of the server suite. In addition, it features one-click whitelisting, which ensures that 4D Mail’s spam filter won’t reject messages from authenticated users, and automated server testing and recovery that stops and re-launches unresponsive servers without the need for administrator intervention.
This update costs US$99, a rate that expires on Jan. 31, along with a $1,000 savings on the 4D Mail unlimited user account expansion pack, which is $499 until then. After the expiration date, existing custmers will have to pay $149. New 4D WebSTAR V licenses, which include 100 4D Mail user accounts, are $399. Upgrades from 4D WebSTAR 4.x to 4D WebSTAR V are $199. System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.2.x, a G4 processor, 128MB RAM (256MB recommended) and 50MB free hard drive space.
