The Omni Group on Thursday released OmniWeb 5.1, an update to their Web browser for Mac OS X. Also released is OmniOutliner 3.0 and OmniOutliner 3.0 Professional, a major new release of The Omni Group’s outlining software for Mac OS X. Both applications require Mac OS X v10.2 or higher.
The new release of OmniWeb features improved compatibility with Web sites, faster history browsing and improved Java compatibility and performance. You can also tab between form elements. It’s a free update for OmniWeb 5 users, and it costs US$29.95 for new users — a 30-day trial version is available for download.
The new release of OmniOutliner, in public beta testing for about a month, features new styling and editing options; the ability to attach images, sounds, movies and other files; export options to rich text, OPML, HTML and more; AppleScript support; Batch Find and Inline Notes.
OmniOutliner Professional is a higher-end version of the application that adds features like folded editing, a Sections drawer, named styles, clipping service support, audio recording and saved templates.
Both applications can be downloaded from The Omni Group’s Web site. OmniOutliner 3.0 costs $39.95 and OmniOutliner 3.0 Professional costs $69.95. Upgrades are available from previous versions.
