On Thursday, system “Thinking Homes” maker OpenPeak Inc. announced support for Rendezvous, Apple’s name for the networking technology that makes it possible for devices to start working on computer networks without requiring any system configuration. OpenPeak makes hardware and software systems for OEMs that provide system integration for digital content service, security, lighting and heating using control panels distributed throughout the home. The systems support Universal Plug and Play (UPnP), Wi-Fi wireless networking connectivity, Infrared (IR) and other standards to simply how devices connect to the home network. OpenPeak’s licensees include Philips Consumer Electronics.
