Last week Matias introduced its OS X Keyboard, a new US$39.95 keyboard designed for Mac OS X that labels special characters on the keys. On Monday Matias announced the release of Key Maestro, which lets users set up their own custom keyboard commands.
Key Maestro is a rebranded version of Stairways Software’s Keyboard Maestro. Stairways reports that both applications work identically, and function with any keyboard — not just Matias’ OS X Keyboard. The OS X Keyboard features a special control key, however, making it easier to invoke commands created using Key Maestro. With Key Maestro, OS X Keyboard users can create menu shortcuts, automate commands they frequently use, control background applications and more. Key Maestro costs US$19.95.
