Apple Computer Inc. subsidiary FileMaker Inc. on Monday announced the release of FileMaker Recruiter 2.0, an updated version of their FileMaker Pro application developed for professional personnel recruiters. The new version of the software has been redesigned to take advantage of the changes made to FileMaker Pro 7.0, released in 2004.
Users can now work in a multi-window environment, and FileMaker Recruiter 2.0 supports built-in security using predefined privilege sets. Reporting capabilities have been expanded and are more customizable than before, as well. FileMaker Recruiter 2.0 now supports importing from Mac OS X’s Address Book application, when used in conjunction with a third-party plug-in. Similarly, data can be imported from Microsoft Outlook on Windows.
Also new is the ability to perform a “quick view” of outstanding actions on the home page — showing activities like contact interactions, companies, groups and candidate searches. Pop-up lists have been added to ease data entry, and serialization of job numbers has been added. A Current Compensation field for candidates has been added, and defaults and preferences can be maintained for contacts.
FileMaker Recruiter 2.0 requires FileMaker Pro 7.0 or higher and works on Mac OS X v10.2.8 or later and Windows 2000 or XP. It costs US$299. Upgrades from version 1.x are free.
