XtremeMac on Tuesday announced that it’s now shipping AirPlay, a transmitter that fits to the top of iPod and iPod mini MP3 players and broadcasts music over any unused FM frequency. AirPlay features a digital display that turns off after tuning into a station to conserve battery power, and when the iPod stops playing music, AirPlay shuts down too. It sells for US$39.95 and works with all dock-connector and click-wheel iPods and iPods mini.
XtremeMac also introduced Shieldz, translucent clip-on cases for iPod mini. They sell for $12.95 and come in sky, rose, tangerine, lilac, kiwi and clear. You can also find them in the company’s iPod mini accessory kit, which includes a clear Shieldz, a snap-on clip, a belt clip, a neck lanyard and a dashboard mount.
Finally, XtremeMac announced color versions of its SportWrap armband for iPod and iPod mini. Compatible with all generations of the MP3 players, SportWrap features a water-resistant Neoprene exterior, the ability to control the iPod through the clear cover, a self-sealing headphone jack and an adjustable Velcro strap. Pricing is $29.95.
