Intego has introduced three new products: Remote Management Console, which enables administrators to manage security software across a LAN or over the Internet, and Internet Security Barrier X Antispam and Platinum Editions. The former will ship later this quarter while the latter is available now. Both are on display the company’s Macworld Conference & Expo San Francisco booth.
Using Remote Management Console, administrators can configure and set preferences for Intego’s NetBarrier, VirusBarrier, ContentBarrier and ChatBarrier software. NetBarrier and VirusBarrier protect Macs from network attacks and viruses while ContentBarrier blocks access to Web sites by keyword or category and ChatBarrier encrypts messages sent over iChat. Remote Management Console features presets for applying the same settings across multiple Macs, activity logs and more. Pricing is US$99.95 for a copy that controls up to 10 Macs and $199.95 for a site license. System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3 and 10MB free hard drive space. A product page was not available on the Intego Web site as MacCentral posted this article.
Internet Security Barrier X Antispam Edition includes Personal Antispam X3, NetBarrier X3 and VirusBarrier X, while the Platinum version features those applications plus Personal Backup X3, ContentBarrier X and ChatBarrier X3. Antispam works with both Apple Mail and Microsoft Entourage to filter incoming e-mail by checking white lists, message content and layout, links contained in the messages and more. The Antispam Edition sells for $99.95 while the Platinum Edition sells for $149.95. Mac OS X v10.1.1 or higher is required.
