On the eve of The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Show in Anaheim, Calif., Apple has released updates to Logic Pro and Logic Express. Logic is Apple’s music creation and audio production software; the Pro version is aimed at professional musicians, while the Express version, containing a scaled-back feature set, is aimed at hobbyists and students.
Apple describes both updates similarly: They contain improvements for compatibility with a number of Audio Units plug-ins and other formats, track automation, control surfaces and other changes. Certain changes are specific to each version, though, so make sure to read the update Web page for a complete list of changes. Both updates are available for download from Apple’s Web site, and require the 7.x versions of Logic Pro or Logic Express to be installed in order to work.
