Giga Designs on Thursday introduced its first dual processor upgrade for the Power Mac G4 Cube. The G-celerator uses 1.42GHz chips that are guaranteed to run at 1.6GHz, thanks to the Voltage Regulation Module (VRM) also included in the upgrade kit. According to the company, the VRM solves problems with the Cube’s power architecture, enabling it to run dual processor upgrades. G-celerator will ship next month with a US$749 price tag; the VRM will also be available separately for $99. Mac OS X v10.3.5 is required. Giga Designs did not have product pages available on its Web site as MacCentral posted this article.
