FileMaker Inc. has advised that in March they will release a v3 update to their FileMaker Server 7 and FileMaker Server 7 Advanced software. The update is being developed to fix reported stability issues with the software, according to a statement released by the company — a purportedly small number of problems have been reported when the software is serving “complex and/or large applications, under heavy load” conditions — where there are more than 50 concurrent clients connected.
FileMaker Inc. noted that it does not believe that the reported stability issues affect the majority of its user base, however. The v3 updater will also fix connectivity or “deafness” issues in FileMaker Server 7 Advanced and will improve configurability and administration for both products.
“Customers who are experiencing any stability or connectivity problems should immediately contact their FileMaker Sales Rep, or FileMaker Technical Support for assistance,” said the company’s statement. “FileMaker intends to release additional information on availability of the v3 updaters in the next few weeks.”
