Editor Chuck Joiner has updated The Macintosh User Group (MUG) Center Web site with the latest news. He notes that new user group vendor offers are now available from Mariner Software, The Apple MUG Store and others. In addition, Joiner reports on the results of his last survey question, which asked “What was the biggest, best, coolest thing your user group did in 2004?”, and introduces his latest query: “How do you rate the MUG events at Macworld Expo?”
This week’s worldwide MUG meetings begin on Jan. 25 as Lincoln Hills MUG recaps Macworld Expo; California’s San Luis Obispo MUG takes a look at XML; and Denver Final Cut Pro Users Group brings in Gary Adcock to present AJA’s Kona 2 video card. On Jan. 26, Portland Mac Filmmakers welcomes Linda Rae Stockton, who screens her documentary “My Heroes and Their Ladies in Waiting,” which features World War II memories related by the soldiers who served in the U.S. Army’s 109th Infantry Regiment and their wives and children. The same day, Canada’s Macintosh Users East presents “Staying Fit While You Sit,” looks at the telephony service Skype and reports on Macworld Expo.
On Jan. 27, Michigan’s Grand Rapids MUG also highlights the news from Macworld Expo while Australia’s Central Victorian MUG reviews members’ favorite Web sites, Champions of the Mac Proletariat holds a “getting acquainted” meeting and Louisiana’s newly-formed Shreveport MUG gets together for its first meeting, which features a Final Cut Pro HD presentation by Major Lytton.
