Apple has released an update to its iMovie HD application, included as part of Apple’s recently released iLife ’05 software. iMovie HD v5.0.1 is available for download through the Software Update system preference pane. iMovie HD 5.0.1 “addresses issues related to video and audio synchronization for DV projects and other minor issues,” according to Apple. Further information was not available as MacCentral posted this article.
iMovie HD is the first version of iMovie to natively support widescreen High-Definition Video (HDV) formats. The software natively supports 720p and 1080i video, importing and editing the video just as you would conventional Digital Video (DV). It also supports MPEG-4 and video from Apple’s iSight webcam, adds a “Magic iMovie” feature, improves performance and adds new effects and transitions. More general information about iMovie HD is available from Apple’s Web site.
