TrufSoft.com has released Calillona 2.0, a Mac OS X software application that maies it possible to search online retailer Amazon.com’s catalog without having to depend on a separate Web browser.
Calillona — named after the location in Peru where the Amazon river originates — originally appeared as a plug-in for Apple’s Sherlock search engine. Now it’s a standalone application that uses the latest Web services provided by Amazon to search and browse the popular online retailer’s catalong. It features a configurable front page, search functionality that TrufSoft boasts is three to four times faster than doing it with Amazon’s Web site, detailed product information, persistent shopping carts, automatic price updates and more.
Calillona is offered as freeware. The software rquires Mac OS X v10.3.5 or later and a DSL or cable-based Internet connection is also recommended.
