On Tuesday, THQ Inc. announced that a follow-up to the company’s successful Incredibles games will hit store shelves this fall. In development now for the Mac as well as Windows, Xbox, GameCube, GameBoy Advance and Nintendo DS, the as-yet-untitled adventure will pick up where the original games left off and “take players and our favorite superheroes to an entirely new dimension of The Incredibles world,” according to Pixar Animation Studios’ John Walker.
Pixar released the movie The Incredibles last Nov. 5 and watched it rake in more than US$250 million at the box office, landing it among the top-grossing films of 2004. THQ published a pair of tie-in games, one an adventure title aimed at older children to adults and one that featured a series of activities designed for younger kids. The company said that the former has sold more than 2.5 million copies, providing the impetus for a sequel. More specific details about the new game are not available at this time. Pixar has not announced plans for a second Incredibles movie.
