In January Macworld Conference & Expo promoters IDG World Expo announced a new event called Macworld On Tour. The regional, conference-driven event was to take place in Kissimmee, Fla. in March. Since then, IDG World Expo has confirmed the event has been postponed.
“Macworld on Tour has been postponed to a later date and location that have yet to be determined,” said an IDG World Expo spokesman in a statement provided to MacCentral. “Since this is a new show we are looking for the right balance of content and relevance for our audience. Based on the response to the current content, we thought it best to postpone and review our plan. We will notify the community as soon as the new [Macworld On Tour] is ready.”
Macworld On Tour was originally conceived as a two-day series of conferences for Mac professionals and general users alike, along with a “showcase component” featuring select Mac industry vendors. The conferences were to include advanced and basic sessions on everything from Apple’s iLife products to AppleScript, digital video and DVD authoring, and a “supersession” for Mac OS X v10.4 “Tiger.”
IDG World Expo and Mac Publishing LLC are both owned by International Data Group (IDG).
