Aspyr Media Inc. on Wednesday announced plans to publish Zoo Tycoon Deluxe for the Macintosh. This collection includes two previously-released games: Zoo Tycoon and the Marine Mania expansion pack, which also includes Dinosaur Digs. Zoo Tycoon Deluxe is anticipated for a March, 2005 release and will cost US$49.99.
Zoo Tycoon is a strategy-oriented simulation game that puts you in charge of a zoo; you must keep the animals in your zoo happy and healthy, creating environments that match their native habitats, feeding them the right things and making sure they have enough space and companionship. What’s more, you’ve got to build a thriving park that customers want to come to — offering them the exhibits, amenities and facilities that will make them keep coming back and spending money. Marine Mania adds to the fun by letting you add marine animals to your zoo; but what’s more, you can also become the head of your own Jurassic Park (hopefully with better results), raising and keeping prehistoric monsters on-hand.
System requirements will call for Mac OS X v10.2.8 or later, G3/233MHz or faster, 128MB RAM, 1.1GB hard disk space, video system with at least 16MB VRAM and a CD-ROM drive. Aspyr’s Web site had not been update with information about the Zoo Tycoon Deluxe package as MacCentral posted this article but you can get more details on the individual games by checking the links above.
