Addonics Technologies on Thursday introduced its new line of Saturn Hard Drive Enclosure kits, which enable users to connect SATA hard drives to a computer via a USB, FireWire, CardBus/PCMCIA, SATA or IDE interface. The kits’ components can be mixed or matched to meet specific needs, with 3.5-inch, 2.5-inch and 1.8-inch drives fitting inside the same enclosure. Users can employ the kit to create an external hard drive, a hot-swappable internal drive that operates as a cartridge or as a standard internal drive. Each kit comes with the necessary components for the required storage solution, and other components can be added later as needed. Prices start at US$74.50 and Addonics says that the kits “can be installed in systems with practically any operating system, depending on the type of interface connection.”
