Adobe Systems Inc. on Monday announced the release of an updated version of its Camera Raw Plug-In for Adobe Photoshop CS and Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0. Adobe has also expanded the capabilities of its DNG Converter application, which converts raw formats into a single universal format — Adobe’s .DNG “digital negative.”
The new Camera Raw plug-in adds compatibility for six new camera models, bringing its total support to more than 70 models. New cameras supported by the new plug-in include Canon’s EOS 20D, PowerShot S70 PowerShot G6 and EOS-1Ds Mark II, and Konica Minolta’s DiMAGE A200 and Maxxum 7D cameras.
The updated DNG Converter application also adds support for the six new cameras, and stores larger previews and provides the option to store the original files within the translated DNG, to save all versions of image data.
Both the plug-in and the DNG Converter application are free downloads, and both requires Mac OS X v10.3.4 or later (or a suitable version of Windows).
