Several days after
releasing an update
to iPhoto 5 through Mac OS X’s Software Update system preferences pane, Apple has
posted the update
to its Web site. The 2MB download updates iPhoto 5.0 — the version that comes with Apple’s recently released iLife ’05 suite — to v5.0.1.
Changes in this release include fixes for upgrading iPhoto 4 libraries and other minor changes, including book creation, dragging albums into folders, importing MPEG-4 movies, searching, and using the red eye reduction tool on older Macs. Apple cautions that you must have iPhoto installed in its original location — ostensibly, inside the Applications folder — to update to iPhoto 5.0.1.
