Blackmagic Design on Friday released DeckLink for Macintosh v4.8, a new version of the software that controls BlackMagic Design’s DeckLink professional video cards. New features in this release include High Definition (HD) downconversion on capture for DeckLink HD models, new Adobe Photoshop plug-ins that integrate 8 or 16-bit video frame capture and output via DeckLink cards, single-field pause, 12-channel HD-SDI audio support on DeckLink HD models, and compatibility improvements with the voiceover tool included in Apple’s Final Cut Pro HD software. DeckLink v4.8 is a free update for all users and is downloadable from Blackmagic Design’s Web site. DeckLink cards are available in a variety of models starting at US$295.
