Destineer subsidiary MacSoft on Friday announced the release of a new title aimed at preschool fans of Nick Jr.’s “Dora the Explorer” television show: Dora the Explorer Animal Adventures is now available for Mac OS X, and will be in stores within a week.
Dora is a young girl who speaks both English and Spanish. She and her monkey pal Boots go on a journey to find and care for all sorts of animals, reuniting baby animals with their parents, snapping photos for a journal and even water-skiing with a dolphin. Along the way, kids learn lessons in counting, matching and memory (along with a smattering of Spanish vocabulary) over three skill levels. Dora the Explorer Animal Adventures was licensed by MacSoft from Atari, which publishes the PC version.
System requirements for Dora the Explorer Animal Adventures call for Mac OS X v10.1.5 or later, G3/400MHz or faster, 128MB RAM, 8MB ATI RAGE 128 or better 3D graphics card, 250MB hard drive space and 4x CD-ROM drive. Dora the Explorer Animal Adventures costs US$19.99.
