One day after the 47th Annual Grammy Awards was broadcast, Apple has announced a special promotion for the U.S. version of Apple’s iTunes Music Store: They’re offering special pricing on all albums that feature a Grammy award-winning track — US$2 off the price of the album, lowering most of those albums to $7.99. The store has posted a list of this year’s winners.
Apple was a key player during this year’s Grammys: The iTunes Music Store is the exclusive online retailer for the live version of John Lennon and Paul McCartney’s “Across the Universe,” performed during the awards show last night by Bono, Stevie Wonder, Norah Jones and numerous other superstars. The track can be purchased for 99 cents, and proceeds raised will benefit UNICEF’s continued Asian tsunami relief efforts. iTunes Music Store also provided members of the Academy with previews and downloads of the music voted on this year.
