Lismore Software Systems Ltd. on Tuesday released Guest PC v1.0.1, an updated version of their new PC emulator for Mac OS X. Improvements in this release include a variety of bug fixes involving FileVault, multiple partitions, internet and network access, AirPort-based DHCP addressing and more. Support has also been added for .toast and .cdr images, .floppyimages and NextStep and OpenStep CD images.
Guest PC is a bare-bones PC emulator for the Macintosh from the same company that created Blue Label PowerEmulator, a PC emulator for “Classic” Mac OS. The software comes only with DOS installed, but includes a Windows Setup Assistant to help simplify the setup of your own copy of Windows. It also works with non-Windows operating systems designed to run on PCs, like certain versions of Linux.
Guest PC 1.0.1 is available for US$69.99. The 1.0.1 upgrade is free for registered users. BlueLabel PowerEmulator users can upgrade for $34.99. System requirements call for G3 or later with Mac OS X v10.3 or later, 2GB hard disk space, 256MB RAM, 1024×768 display and CD or DVD drive.
