Cornerstone TSP Games has converted Retro64 Games’ Cosmo Bots to the Macintosh. It’s a fast-paced arcade action game in the spirit of past games like Qix, Jezzball, and Ambrosia Software’s old classic Barrack.
In Cosmo Bots, you attempt to fence or partition off sections of the game playing field. Various creatures and objects will attempt to thwart you by walking the perimeter of the field or bouncing around. But if you wall them in successfully, they’ll get blasted and occasionally yield power-ups (and power-downs) that may inbue you with a bonus point multiplier, special abilities and more. The game features more than 500 levels of progressively more difficult play.
Cosmo Bots is available for download immediately; it costs US$19.99 to purchase. It’s compatible with Mac OS 8.5 and later as well as Mac OS X (not to worry — it runs natively in OS X). A 500MHz or faster CPU is recommended, and 128MB RAM is required.
