Norpath Inc. on Tuesday announced the release of Norpath Elements Studio 3.0 for Mac OS X and Windows — a major upgrade to its multimedia authoring software. Norpath Elements Studio 3.0 costs US$495; registered users can upgrade for $199. A trial version is available for download. System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3.7 or later, G3/500MHz or faster, 256MB RAM and 150MB hard drive space.
Norpath Elements Studio is aimed at users who want to create rich media applications but don’t want to write code or learn a scripting language. The software incorporates design tools suitable for creating interactive graphics, multimedia and animation. Norpath Elements Studio also features “knowledge elements” used to create learning, testing and survey solutions. Norpath Elements Studio can be used to create standalone applications, content for CD or DVD distribution, and information kiosks that run on Mac OS X, Windows and Java operating systems.
The new release of Norpath Elements Studio has more than 100 new features and enhancements, according to the developer. Major changes in this release include dynamic content layout that changes the size and position of shape, text and image elements based on the size of the runtime’s window. Other changes include the ability to span content across multiple CD and DVD discs, support for Apple’s QuickTime 6, and many new templates.
