WiebeTech LLC on Monday announced improvements to its Forensic BayDock, an external FireWire desktop storage system designed for file recovery and investigation. Previously available with support for IDE drive mechanisms only, the Forensic BayDock is now available with Serial ATA (SATA) support. The Forensic BayDock is made from anodized aluminum and uses an internal power supply; it’s stackable and daisy-chainable.
The Forensic BayDock is available with SATA support in both its Dual BayDock (two-bay) and Quad BayDock (four-bay) confiugrations. The Dual BayDock features two SATA bays; one is write-blocked and the other is read-write. The Quad BayDock features two IDE and two SATA bays each (one drive bay of each type is write-blocked). WiebeTech continues to make available in Single, Dual and Quad configurations that support IDE only. The new Dual BayDock SATA costs US$1,099.95. The new SATA/IDE Quad BayDock costs $1,799.95. WiebeTech estimates 2-5 week delivery time.
