MACOSGURU on Monday announced the release of SQL4X Manager J version 3.0 — an updated version of their JDBC database server management tool for Mac OS X. The new version supports new database servers and provides new visual design features.
A new connection assistant adds support for IBM’s Cloudscape and Apache Derby. Also new in this release is the Entity Relationship Modeler, which supports reverse-engineering of existing databases. The Database Navigator sports major speed improvements and can dynamically load preview data. The Object Manager has been enhanced for Oracle, MS SQL Server and Sybase databases, and features enhanced loading and editing of database objects like stored procedures, functions and triggers.
A free trial is available for download; the software comes in Basic, Professional and Enterprise editions for US$59, $129 and $249 respectively. Updates are available for the 2.x version. System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.2 or later.
