Objective Decision has released version 2.1 of OD4Contact, the developer’s contact management tool. This upgrade, which is free for users of version 1.x or higher, adds several new features, including the ability to send e-mail in plain, rich-text or HTML format from within the application, as well as a templates manager for saving frequently-sent messages as templates. In addition, it offers a category column for contacts, “always-on” synchronization that immediately updates OD4Contact when changes are made in Mail, iChat, Address Book or other utilities.
OD4Contact 2.1 also adds smart groups for dynamically managing sets of contacts, the option to switch between tree and flat group display modes, the ability to specify periods of time when synchronizing tasks with an iPod and compatibility with tasks and contacts exported or imported in csv format. Among this upgrade’s performance improvements, the communication center caches e-mails faster and now recognizes new contacts or updated e-mail addresses. Other enhancements and bugs fixes are included as well.
The full version of OD4 Contact is US$54.90. Mac OS X v10.3 and 384MB RAM (512MB recommended) are required. A 30-day trial is available on the Objective Decision Web site.
