Tekkeon on Thursday released an FM transmitter add-on to its myPower for iPod, the company’s rechargeable battery and portable dock that offers up to 32 hours of extended use for iPods and up to 42 hours for iPod minis. myPower FM snaps into the bottom of the myPower unit and draws power from its battery, rather than the MP3 player’s. It features seven FM frequencies to choose from and can transmit music to any radio or stereo within 15 feet.
Pricing is US$34.95. myPower for iPod is $89.95 and is compatible with all iPods that have dock connectors, including all HP-branded iPods, both generations of the iPod mini and the iPod photo. It offers up to 32 hours of extra juice for 4G iPods, up to 20 hours for 3G iPods and up to 42 or 28 hours for 6GB or 4GB iPod minis. It includes FireWire and USB 2.0 ports as well as a line-out port and a 5V outlet for charging cell phones or other devices.
