Bare Bones Software on Monday published BBEdit 8.1, the latest version of its HTML and plain text editor. This upgrade adds support for the version control system Subversion, an open-source tool for managing and tracking code changes in a distributed software environment. More information can be found in the release notes for BBEdit 8.1.
This upgrade also includes a new submenu and corresponding palette in the Text Factory feature, which enables users to automate repetitive tasks. The changes enable users to more easily apply a “factory” to the current document. BBEdit 8.1, which is free for existing users, also offers several performance enhancements and bug fixes. Pricing is US$199, with discounted upgrades available for owners of older versions. Mac OS X v10.3.5 is required.
