Griffin Technology Inc. on Thursday announced the release of their AirClick Remote for iPod and iPod mini, a remote control designed, as you might have guessed, to work with Apple’s iPod and iPod mini. The AirClick Remote is different from most iPod remote controls because it works using Radio Frequency (RF) technology instead of infrared, so it doesn’t require a line of sight to the iPod and can operate up to 60 feet away, according to Griffin. It’s shipping now for US$39.99.
The AirClick Remote is compatible with all iPods that have a dock connector. When used with the iPod photo, it can also be used to advance pictures while the device is in photo mode. The package includes a remote, a receiver that goes on the iPod or iPod mini (pictured), a remote cradle and straps suitable for attaching the remote to an automobile steering wheel, bicycle or any other object that’s suitable. The remote features a hold switch, volume up and down, play/pause, next track and previous track buttons. It also touts a clip.
