Apple is now accepting submissions for the Apple Design Awards 2005, an annual event that takes place during Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). Entries for the Apple Design Awards are due by Friday, May 13, 2005. The awards “recognize Mac OS X software solutions that deliver technical excellence and outstanding achievement.”
This year’s awards include the following categories: Best Product New to Mac OS X, Best Mac OS X User Experience, Best Mac OS X Entertainment Product, Best Mac OS X Scientific Computing Solution, Best Mac OS X Server Solution, Best Use of Open Source and Best Mac OS X Student Product. A Best Use of Mac OS X Tiger Technologies award will also be available to developers with Apple Developer Connection (ADC) memberships that include early access to Mac OS X v10.4 Tiger.
Developers who win the awards will receive “10th anniversary prize packages” that include Mac hardware, ADC memberships and more. The awards are presented during a ceremony that happens at the WWDC this June.
