Those of you who read the print version of Macworld know that each month we print letters from readers, usually in response to articles or reviews that have appeared in the magazine. Well, we also get reader feedback here at Mac Gems—in response to both the monthly print column and the reviews we post here on the Weblog. But there’s something a little different about Mac Gems reader mail: Because Mac Gems focuses on cool products, so too does our reader feedback. We regularly receive emails alerting us to neat software titles that have helped readers accomplish tasks. And, of course, we get letters telling us that although a product we’ve covered is good, another product is even better at doing the same thing. (We don’t mind—with the tens of thousands of Mac OS X software titles out there, and thousands of pieces of Mac-compatible hardware, we welcome tips that help us find new, and better, Gems.)
With this in mind, we’ll be using some of our Fridays here on the Mac Gems Weblog to feature reader feedback. Some days, that will mean posting select letters from readers along with staff comments or answers to questions. Other days it will mean reviewing products readers have suggested. And we’ll occasionally even post a reader-submitted review. (We actually did our first such “reader Gem” a couple weeks ago, when we published Derik DeLong’s review of the Flickr Export Plugin for iPhoto.) So if you’ve got something to say—about a product we’ve covered, about a product you’d like to see covered, or about Mac Gems in general—drop us an email at our macworld.com address: macgems@ . Or leave a message in the Mac Gems forum.
We look forward to hearing from you.
