Iogear Inc. on Monday announced the release of its Dual View USB KVMP (Keyboard, Video, Mouse, Peripheral) Switch, a peripheral that allows up to four computers equipped with dual displays, be they Macs or PCs, to have access to a single USB keyboard, mouse and two VGA, SVGA or multi-sync analog displays. Users can also share USB-based peripherals like scanners, printers and external hard drives. The switch also features audio input and output that lets computers share a single microphone and set of speakers.
Many Power Macs ship with video cards capable of driving two displays simultaneously. Power Macs equipped with video cards that tout Digital Visual Interface (DVI) or Apple Display Connector (ADC) interfaces can work with analog displays using inexpensive adapters often included with the systems.
The new Dual View USB KVMP Switch is available in two and four-port models for US$249.95 and $349.95 respectively.
