TLA Systems on Tuesday released DragThing 5.6, its alternative dock application for Mac OS X. The updated version sports full support for Mac OS X v10.4, due out on April 29th. Other new features have been added also. DragThing 5.6 is a free update for registered users of DragThing 5 and is available for immediately download. It costs US$29 to register and requires Mac OS X v10.2 (though Tiger-specific features require Mac OS X v10.4).
Dragthing 5.6 can now display the contents of Smart Folders, a new feature to be found in Mac OS X v10.4. It also supports VoiceOver and other assistive technologies and improves image previews, now including clipping files and icons. Under the hood, the software has been rebuilt using Apple’s Xcode 2.0 development environment. DragThing 5.6 also supports online bug reporting using Zonic’s BugReporter.
