Media 100 has announced support for Apple’s forthcoming Mac OS X v10.4 “Tiger” release. The company said that its Media 100 HD and recently announced Media 100 sw products will run on Tiger and QuickTime 7.
Media 100 HD is a 10-bit uncompressed digital video editing system that supports Standard Definition (SD) and High Definition (HD) video. It comprises both hardware and software designed to work on the Mac. Media 100 sw is a software-only version that Media 100 recently announced; it’s currently in development and is expected to be released later this year.
Media 100 director of product marketing Steve Bayes said in a statement that both Tiger and QuickTime 7 will be supported in an update scheduled to be released shortly after Apple releases Tiger itself — Apple has scheduled the release for Friday, April 29, 2005.
“Over time,we will be optimizing Media 100 products to take advantage of the exciting core features in the new operating system that will benefit nonlinear editing systems,” said Bayes.
