Automatic Duck used this week’s National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) trade show in Las Vegas to show off a new version of its Pro Export tool for Final Cut Pro, now with integration for Pro Tools and other digital audio workstation software that supports Avid’s Open Media Framework (OMF) interchange format.
Pro Export was developed to help Apple Final Cut Pro users transfer their work offline to an Avid system such as Avid Symphony or Avid Media Composer. New in the 3.0 release, now called Pro Export FCP 3.0, is the ability to export OMF files from Final Cut Pro with embedded audio, to be used directly by Digidesign Pro Tools or any other audio system supporting OMF. Audio gain info, including key frames, is maintained. Coming this summer, Pro Export FCP 3.0 will cost US$495.
