Stone Design on Tuesday announced iMaginator, a new image processing application developed for use with Mac OS X v10.4 “Tiger.” Developed around Tiger’s Core Image technology, iMaginator lets you apply 107 effects, transitions and filters in real-time. Processed images can be saved in TIFF, JPEG or as QuickTime movies. Shipping the same day as Tiger — April 29, 2005, iMaginator will cost US$49.
iMaginator is described by its developer as an “Image Unit” harness for Tiger’s Core Image technology that automatically loads and displays any custom image processing plug-ins you add. iMaginator includes 100 Tiger Image Units, along with seven new custom plug-ins from Stone Design including Crop Fade Mask, Oval Mask, Make Transparent, Colorize, Grayscale and Polka Dots. Interfaces let you modify existing plug-ins to tweak your own blurs, color adjustments, distortions, styles, compositing effects and more. What’s more, iMaginator makes use of Tiger’s new SpotLight search engine technology and is AppleScriptable.
