Kensington now offers Apple iPod users another option if they’d like to broadcast their iPod music to a nearby FM receiver — the FM Digital Transmitter/Auto Charger, developed using technology from Aerielle Inc. It costs US$79.99.
The device plugs into the accessory jack or cigarette lighter plug in your vehicle, and features a push button interface and digital display. The other end plugs into the Dock Connector on all such-equipped iPods; those include third and fourth-generation iPods, iPod minis and iPod photos. In addition to transmitting iPod audio to an unused FM frequency band on your radio, the device also charges up the iPod batteries. You can change frequencies using up/down buttons and lock in station presets using three programmable buttons.
