Bongfish Interactive Entertainment is continuing work on its new snowboarding game for Mac OS X, Windows and Linux platforms, which it hopes to release in the third calendar quarter of 2005. Stoked Rider featuring Tommy Brunner is a freeride snowboarding game that features cel-shaded graphics; its developers said that the game’s terrain is inspired by Alaska’s mountains.
Recently Bongfish updated the Web site with the first in-game footage of Stoked Rider; the 48MB movie is encoded in QuickTime format and is available for viewing on the Stoked Rider Web site and for direct download through numerous mirror sites, which Bongfish has linked to from its own Web site. The footage is culled from an “Alpha” development build; the game uses AGEIA’s physics technology, which has been licensed by companies including Unreal creators Epic Games and the Mac industry’s own Aspyr Media Inc.
