Vise X MindVision Software has released Vise X v2.0, a major upgrade to its Mac OS X installer maker software. The new version has updated install locations and Gestalts for Tiger.
Curio Zengobi has released Curio v2.4, an updated version of their brainstorming software. The new release features a Tiger Spotlight plug-in and other changes.
EyeHome Elgato has released EyeHome 1.6, an update to the software that drives the device which lets you view digital content on your Mac using your TV and home entertainment system. Tiger support, new menus and other improvements are included in this release.
FAXstf Pro Smith Micro has released FAXstf Pro v10.6, an updated version of its faxing software for Mac OS X. In addition to Tiger compatibility, new features include a customizable spam fax filter, the ability to search for contacts by name or number and more.
Command & Conquer Aspyr Media Inc. has posted a v1.0.3 update to Command & Conquer Generals to v1.0.3. The update fixes text truncation and non-functioning hot key issues associated with Tiger.
Peak BIAS has released v4.14 updates to Peak Express, Peak LE and Peak, with support for Tiger and new features including “auto detect regions.”
Entourage Email Archive X Softhing has released Entourage Email Archive v2.2, now with Tiger support and support for Spotlight.
Script Timer Apps and More Software Design Inc. has released a Tiger-compatible version of Script Timer, a scheduling application that runs scripts at set times and regular intervals.
Snapz Pro X Ambrosia Software has released Snapz Pro X v2.0.2. The new release has Tiger compatibility, fixes bugs and more.
IOXperts 802.11b driver IOXperts has released a compatibility update for its 802.11b driver, which allows non-Apple wireless networking cards to work on PC card slot-equipped PowerBooks. The new v1.0.4 release is for Tiger only.

You Software With the release of You Control 1.3.2, You Software said the menu utility is now compatible with Mac OS X Tiger. You Control Desktop also received an update making it Tiger compatible as well.

OD4Contact Objective Decision has updated its PIM and contact relation management software, OD4Contact. Version 2.5 adds support for Tiger technologies including Spotlight and Smart Groups. Other features in the new version include Microsoft Word document merging, automatic iChat logs retrieving and envelope printing. Version 2.5 is available as a free update to existing users of v2.x or as a $30 upgrade (from v1.x).
Merlin 1.3 ProjectWizards has updated Merlin, its project management tool, adding Tiger capabilities. Among other features, Merlin now has an integrated search module that supports Tiger’s “Spotlight” search engine. The update is free for registered users.
SpamSieve Shareware developer Michael Tsai has updated SpamSieve, a Bayesian-based spam filtering application for Mac OS X. Among other improvements, SpamSieve boasts compatibility with Mac OS X 10.4.1 released yesterday by Apple. SpamSieve works with a variety of email clients including Apple Mail, Emailer, Entourage, Outlook Express, Eudora 5.2 or later (Sponsored or Paid), Mailsmith (bundled with Mailsmith 2.0.2), GyazMail 1.2 and PowerMail. SpamSieve costs US$25 and is available from the developers Web site.
Data Backup Prosoft Engineering’s Data Backup is now compatible with Mac OS X Tiger with the latest release, bringing the application to version 2.0.5. The free update is available from the company’s Web site.

USB Overdrive Version 10.3.9 of Alessandro Levi Montalcini’s universal input-device driver fixes modifier+click assignments and an issue with APC UPS devises in Tiger.
Norton AntiVirus Symantec says that Tiger compatibility is among the changes introduced in Norton AntiVirus 10.0 for Macintosh.
Trans Lucy Startly Technologies adds Tiger compatibility to its OS X DVD player with Trans Lucy 1.0.2, a free download for registered users.
Nisus Writer Express Version 2.1.3 of the text editor from Nisus Software fixes issues discovered after Tiger’s release.
Artlandia SymmetryWorks Besides Tiger support, version 3.12 of the Illustrator plug-in from Artlandia adds compatibility with Adobe Illustrator CS2.
pro Fit With pro Fit 6.0.3, QuantumSoft makes all of the data-analysis program’s documents searchable through Spotlight.
SaveMe GoldfishSoft fixes Tiger-related bugs with version 1.1.2 of its utility for adding auto-save to virtually any OS X program.
Totwise The preschool and youth-program management software adds Tiger compatibility in version 2.0.2, Totwise Software says.

Derman Enterprises Derman Enterprises has updated its clipboard sharing utility ClipCommControl to v1.2, its PC and Mac mouse/keyboard sharing utility KMremoteControl to v1.5 and its application hiding utility HideItControl to v1.2. All of the new releases are Tiger-compatible and contain other minor changes.
Solitaire Till Dawn X Semicolon Software released Solitaire Till Dawn X v1.4.1. The new release introduces five new variations on solitaire card games and also provides Tiger support.
Creative Manager Pro Creative Manager Inc. has updated its ad agency management software Creative Manager Pro to version 7.8. In addition to Tiger support, the new version adds 25 enhancements including project-based P&L reporting from within the General Ledger.
MaxMenus, LiteSwitch X Proteron has released MaxMenus 1.4 and LiteSwitch X 2.5, incremental updates with Tiger support. MaxMenus add customizable menus to any display, and LiteSwitch X is a keyboard switcher application.
Tiger Update Archive
• Anthracite: Metafy’s Web-mining desktop toolkit software Anthracite is Tiger-compatible. Version 1.1.1 adds a Spotlight Importer that lets you search the names of your objects in Anthracite documents and find source URLs you’ve clipped.
• Audio Hijack Pro: Rogue Amoeba Software has released Audio Hijack Pro v2.5, with Tiger support and new features like smarter timers, timer iCal export, a “Radio” input option with custom support for Griffin’s RadioShark, and a new “System Audio” input.
• BBEdit: Bare Bones Software released version 8.2 of BBEdit. The text and HTML editing tool adds support for Automator. Other changes in the new release include maintenance updates to all reported issues and other minor refinements. A free update for 8.x users, BBEdit requires Mac OS X v10.3.5 or later.
• BitTorrent: BitTorrent, the popular peer-to-peer file sharing software, has been updated to version 4.0.2 to add Tiger compatibility.
• Camino: The latest version of Camino, the Mozilla-based Web browser that features a Mac-specific interface, has been posted. The new 0.84 build features Tiger support and fixes several security bugs; the Camino project developers strongly recommend that all users upgrade due to the nature of the security fixes.
• CandyBar: Panic has released CandyBar 2.5, a Tiger-compatible version of its Macintosh system icon changer. It also adds new tiger-specific icons. The 2.5 update is free for CandyBar users; others pay $12.95.
• CEI: CEI announced support for its line of software visualization tools—EnSight, EnSight Gold, EnLiten, EnVideo, and EnVe.
• Chessmaster 9000: Feral Interactive will post a patch on May 16 for Chessmaster 9000 to fix a crashing bug in Tiger.
• Cocktail: Cocktail, the general purpose utility for Mac OS X that exposes UNIX-based maintenance tools and interface tweaks in a Mac-friendly GUI, has been updated to v3.6 (Tiger Edition). The new release is built and optimized using the latest release of Apple’s Xcode.
• CopyCatX: SubRosaSoft’s CopyCatX is now compatible with Tiger. It’s a disk cloning utility that also lets you write to disc images instead of physical drives.
• ChronoSync: Version 3.0.1 of the file synchronization and backup software from Econ Technologies is Tiger-compatible.
• Daystar: Daystar Technology confirmed that it has verified, tested and qualified its MAChSpeed ZIF, G-Celerator and MAChSpeed Pismo processor upgrades with Tiger. The MAChCarrier and Lombard upgrades haven’t been tested with Tiger, and the systems these upgrades are designed to work in aren’t supported by Tiger, but the company hopes that a new version of the open-source utility XPOSTFACTO will solve this problem.
• Default Folder X: St. Clair Software’s utility for enhancing Open and Save dialogs in OS X adds Tiger compatibility. The free Default Folder X 2.0 update also gives users the option to choose whether to jump immediately to the Finder or finish what they’re working on when using the utility to open a folder in the Finder.
• Delicious Library: Delicious Monster Software released Delicious Library 1.5, a new version of its cataloging and personal library software for Mac OS X. Tiger support for Delicious Library includes support for Spotlight and a new mini-bookshelf Dashboard widget.
• Deja Vu: Propaganda Productions has released Deja Vu v3.1, which is Tiger-compatible.
• DeltaGraph: Red Rock Software has released a Spotlight plug-in for DeltaGraph, its data analysis, charting and graphing software. DeltaGraph 5.6, released in April, is Tiger-compatible.
• DevonThink and Devon Agent: DevonTechnologies’ notepad and outliner DevonThink has been updated to v1.9.3 and is ready for Tiger. Also updated is DevonAgent, the Web-based information finding tool that works with search engines, scientific databases and online research tools. The new 1.7 version displays PDF files without needing a plug-in if you’re using Tiger and marks unread results like Apple Mail.
• DiscBlaze: Radical Breeze is readying DiscBlaze 5.0, a new upgrade to its CD and DVD authoring package. The new version adds Tiger support as well as support for UDF, greater disc image support and more.
• disclabel: SmileOnMyMac updated disclabel to v2.3.1 and has vetted it for Tiger. Disclabel lets you create labels for CDs, DVDs, cases and other related materials. It integrates with Apple’s iLife applications.
• DiskWarrior: Alsoft plans to release DiskWarrior 3.0.3 during the first week of May. The free update for users of DiskWarrior 3.0.x allows the disk repair utility to run on OS X 10.4 while enhancing journaling and RAID support.
• Drive Genius, Data Rescue, and Picture Rescue: Prosoft Engineering has announced that the latest updates to Drive Genius, Data Rescue and Picture Rescue are all Tiger-compatible.
• EarthBrowser: Lunar Software has released EarthBrowser v2.5.5, an Tiger-compatible version of the software that displays the earth with live weather, clouds, earthquakes, webcams and other data.
• EarthDesk, Time Palette, and MacQibla: Xeric Design has posted Tiger-compatible versions of EarthDesk 3.0.1, Time Palette 5.7.4 and MacQibla 3.0.4.
• Extensis: The software maker’s Product Compatibility page shows the status of its software with both Tiger and Adobe’s recently released Creative Suite 2.
• File Stitcher: PariahWare has released File Stitcher 1.2, a Tiger-compatible version of its file merge utility.
• FileScope: Montage Technologies released FileScope v1.02, an update that fixes Tiger-specific bugs in its server monitoring application.
• GoodPage: TARI has released GoodPage v1.1, an updated version of its HTML/CSS authoring tool. The new releases fixes Mac OS X 10.3.9 and 10.4-related bugs and makes other minor enhancements.
• GyazMail: GyazMail, an e-mail client for Mac OS X, adds Tiger compatibility with its 1.2.4.4 release.
• iBiz IGG Software has released iBiz 2.4, a Tiger-compatible update for the time-billing and invoicing application. A new Dashboard widget for iBiz lets you time your activities, too.
• iClip: Inventive Software has released iClip 3.5.4, an update to their clipboard software which is “Tiger-ready.” The company is working on a complementary Dashboard widget called iClip lite.
• iDive: Aquafadas Software added Tiger support to its digital video management application. Version 1.3 now comes with a dedicated Spotlight plugin for instant searches of specific clips. The upgrade is free for existing customers.
• iFlash: Loopware has released iFlash v2.5.4, an update to its flash-card learning program that’s now Tiger-compatible. Also new in this release is a Spotlight plug-in that lets you search iFlash card decks.
• iGetter: Presenta has released iGetter 2.3, a new version of its download manager and accelerator designed to replace your browser’s own download manager. Tiger and Safari 2.0 compatibility are only two features of this new release; it also improves queue logic, adds support for Firefox cookies, added a Site Explorer cache and more.
• iListen: MacSpeech has released iListen 1.6.8, which lets users of the voice control software access Spotlight and Automator appkications by voice.
• Impression: The Babel Co. has released Impression v2.8. The updated archiving utility for Mac OS X is Tiger-compatible, adds cross-platform HFS+/ISO 9660/Joliet disc burning, archiving of Spotlight metadata and other enhancements.
• Indiana Jones & The Emperor’s Tomb: Aspyr Media has released a patch for Indiana Jones & The Emperor’s Tomb to fix a problem when installing the game with Tiger installed.
• InstallAnywhere: InstallAnywhere 7 is Tiger-compatible, according to Zero G Software. The software installation tool supports multiple platforms including Mac OS X, versions of Linux and Solaris. It’s available in various editions starting at $999.
• Intaglio: Purgatory Design has posted Intaglio v2.3, a Tiger-compatible version of the drawing application that also gains a Spotlight importer, Automator actions, and support for new Quartz features in Tiger.
• Intego software: The utility maker said it will have updates for NetBarrier, VirusBarrier, Personal Backup X, ContentBarrier X, ChatBarrier X3 and its other utility software for Tiger compatbility.
• iPhoto Buddy: iPhoto Buddy, the multiple library manager for iPhoto from Rick Neil, has been updated to 1.2.1, adding Tiger compatibility, new preferences, and minor bug fixes.
• iPod.iTunes: CrispSofties has updated its iPod.iTunes shareware for synchronizing tracks, playlist, song rating, dates, and play counts between your iPod and iTunes music library to >version 2.8, adding Tiger support.
• iPulse: The Iconfactory has released iPulse 2.1.2, an updated version of the uniquely designed system monitoring utility. The new version has been updated to work with Tiger.
• iRecordMusic: Bitcartel’s iRecordMusic lets your record Internet broadcasts made using RealAudio, Windows Media Player and QuickTime as MP3, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, 3GPP and AIFF files. It’s now Tiger-compatible.
• iSpeak It: ZappTek has released iSpeak It v2.0.1. A utility that converts written documents to audio using the Mac’s text-to-speech technology, it converts the audio to an MP3 or AAC track that you can play in iTunes or on an iPod. Tiger compatibility and minor new features have been added to this release.
• iTunes Library Manager: Doug’s AppleScripts for iTunes has released iTunes Library Manager 4.1, an updated AppleScript application that makes backup copies of the iTunes Library and iTunes preferences. Support for Tiger has been added, and it now displays the date modified of currently loaded backup library in dialogs.
• LiveDictionary: Eloquent Software has released LiveDictionary v1.1.5, an update to their Safari extension that adds dictionary lookups to the Web. Also fixed in this release is a popup activation bug.
• MacDopplerPro X and MacLoggerDX: Dog Park Software has released Tiger-compatible versions of MacDopplerPro X and MacLoggerDX— versions 2.9.1 and 4.0.8, respectively.
• MacDraft: Microspot has released MacDraft v5.5.7, with bug fixes and improvements for OS X 10.3, as welll as a Spotlight plug-in for Tiger.
• MacEase: Shareware software developer MacEase has announced that its software ClipPreserver, iPrint, PrintMagic, Print It!, WebPrint Plus, Safari Magic and MacMagic have all been tested for compatibility with Tiger.
• MacJournal: Mariner Software released a Tiger compatible version of MacJournal. MacJournal is your Mac diary, complete with blogging features.
• MacMagic: MacEase’s MacMagic v1.1.1 optimized the data-mining utility for Tiger.
• Mark of the Unicorn: Mark of the Unicorn has announced Tiger-compatible versions of its products for professional musicians.
• Media 100 HD: Media 100 will support Tiger with its nonlinear digital video editing system, along with QuickTime 7.
• MegaSeg: Fidelity Media released MegaSeg 3.1, an update to their Mac OS X DJ and radio automation software. Support for Tiger and QuickTime 7 has been added to this release, along with new features for the Schedule and support for the MIDI-based Hercules DJ Console controller.
• MenuCalendarClock for Entourage: Objectpark Software’s MenuCalendarClock for Entourage is now at version 2.0, and is Tiger-compatible. The new release gains new features, including a new search field in the Calendar drawer.
• MenuStrip: MacPowerUser Software has released MenuStrip v3.0.5, a new version of its menu bar and control strip utility. Besides Tiger compatibility, the new version adds a redesigned settings panel, updated UI look and feel, and new AppleScript support.
• Mercury Extreme G4: Other World Computing has confirmed that its Mercury Extreme G4 CPU upgrade cards are compatible with Tiger.
• MetaVue: The free plug-in from E-on Software lets users of the Vue product line take advantage of Tiger’s Spotlight technology. E-on also says its line of 3-D scenery creation software has been optimized for OS X 10.4.
• Microsoft Office 2004: Microsoft said that Office 2004 will work with new Tiger techologies; Spotlight indexes Word, Excel and PowerPoint formats. Microsoft’s Mac BU also plans to support additional features like sync services in a new update.
• Missing Sync: Mark/Space announced that the current release of its Missing Sync for Mac OS software works with Tiger. There are issues with Missing Sync for Windows Mobile and hiptop, however—the company has posted a Web page with more info.
• Mouseposé: Boinx Software’s free cursor highlighting tool Mouseposé is now at v1.2. The new release adds Tiger compatibility, the ability to run as a faceless background application and the ability to assign a Hot Key that activates the Mouseposé effect.
• netTunes: Shirt Pocket’s NetTunes, a remote control application for iTunes, adds Tiger support with its 2.2 release. It also improves performance. Tiger users also gain iChat status control.
• NoteBook: Circus Ponies Software has released NoteBook 2.0. A free upgrade for users of NoteBook 1.0, the new version of the outlining and organizing tool. More than 150 new features have been added to this release, including support for Tiger’s Spotlight feature.
• Now Up-to-Date & Contact: Now Software will release Now Up-to-Date & Contact 5.0 in June, with Tiger compatibility and a slew of new features.
• OmniGraffle: The Omni Group has announced that OmniGraffle and OmniGraffle Pro, its diagramming and charting application for Mac OS X, have added support for Tiger and Spotlight.
• OmniOutliner: The Omni Group’s OmniOutliner, its outlining application, gets the Tiger treatment with an update that adds Spotlight support. The Omni Group also plans a future update that will feature a suite of Automator actions.
• OpenSIMS: Symbiot Software plans to release a Tiger-compatible version of OpenSIMS in early May, with new Dashboard widgets that will provide administrators with real-time attacker attributions and network activity info. OpenSIMS is a Java and XML-based set of information security management tools.
• Painter IX: Corel has released a plug-in for Spotlight that exposes Corel Painter IX documents, making it possible to search them for all text within an .RIFF file, layer names, file information, image width and height, and other information.
• PandoCalendar: Panda Systems has updated PandoCalendar, the desktop calendar application, to version 6.0.4, fixing a problem that caused black boxes to appear behind text on Tiger if the calendar has transparency set.
• PayGo SP: CJI has released PayGo SP 3.5, a new version of their Point-of-Sale system for small businesses. The new release incorporates several hundred new features and functions, incoluding support for Tiger.
• Peak and Deck: BIAS has announced forthcoming updates to Peak, its stereo editing, processing and mastering application, and Deck, its audio workstation software, to make them Tiger-compatible. Look for Peak 4.14 and Deck 3.54 to be released sometime in May. SoundSoap 2 and SoundSoap Pro are already Tiger-compatible.
• Phlink: Ovolab’s telephony software for the Macintosh, Phlink, adds Tiger support with a v2.1 release. Spotlight support, Dashboard Widgets and Automator actions are supported with the update as well. Phlink costs $149.95, and 2.1 is a free update for 2.0 users.
• PhoneValet Message Center: Parliant has released PhoneValet Message Center v2.2, an update to its Mac telephony software. A free upgrade for 2.x users, PhoneValet 2.2 adds support for Tiger technologies including Spotlight, allowing you to search for caller’s name, number, ful-text comments and transcriptions and more.
• Photobooth: Stunt Software has released PhotoBooth v1.5, a new version of its digital photo printing software. Compatible with iPhoto ‘05 and Tiger, PhotoBooth v1.5 also adds the ability to print multiple photographs at once and adds an improved print selection interface.
• Photoprinto: SmileOnMyMac has released photoprinto 1.2, an updated version of the software to create and print designer photo albums and scrapbooks. In addition to Tiger compatibility and some minor enhancements, photoprinto v1.2 adds HTML export. Tiger users gain Spotlight search support and new Core Image filter support.
• Popcorn: Roxio’s DVD duplication software has been updated to 1.0.2. In addition to Tiger-related bug fixes, the new release resolves issues with stuttering playback and AppleScript.
• PowerEasy ERP Enterprise: Effigent has announced PowerEasy ERP Enterprise for Tiger will arrive in June. The software is an integrated business management application that includes accounting, sales order management and fulfillment, inventory management, purchase order management, and e-commerce capabilities. Tiger-specific features include Dasboard widgets and Spotlight support.
• Quantrix: Quantrix, the quantitative modeling software for professionals, is now available for Tiger with a new 1.2 update.
• Radiolover: Bitcartel’s Radiolover records MP3 radio streams as separate songs. It’s now Tiger-compatible.
• RealBasic: Real Software’s first Tiger plug-in for REALbasic 3.0 or higher is now available. It enables RealBasic developers to search for their source code using Tiger’s Spotlight functionality.
• Retrospect: Retrospect 6.0 supports Tiger with a patch. A future release include support for Extended Metadata and Access Control Lists. Retrospect 6 will be required for Tiger users—previous versions won’t be supported on Tiger.
• RollCall Directory: Midnight Mage Software’s print utility for Apple’s Address Book software, RollCall Directory, has been updated to v1.3. The new release adds Tiger-related support such as Smart Groups and expanded address book fields.
• Salling Clicker: Salling Software has released an update to Salling Clicker that adds support for Tiger and new phones. Salling Clicker is used to remote-control the Mac through Bluetooth-compatible phones and PDAs.
• Sample Manager: Audiofile Engineering released Sample Manager v2.1, an update to the batch audio processor. The new release gains Tiger support and fully supports Automator with 28 actions. A new Spotlight-based file search feature has been added.
• ShapeShifter: Unsanity has released ShapeShifter 2.1, an update to its OS X “theme changing” software that adds Tiger support.
• SoftRAID: SoftRAID’s SoftRAID 3 driver is now included with Tiger, allowing Tiger users to recognize SoftRAID 3 volumes without any modification. SoftRAID users are encouraged to update the application itself to version 3.1.3 for Tiger compatibility.
• Software MacKiev: Software MacKiev has updated Kid Pix Deluxe 3X, The Print Shop and 3D Weather Globe & Atlas to versions 1.0.2, 1.0.7 and 1.1, to add Tiger support. It’s also released a Spotlight plug-in for the World Book Notepad and a World Book Widget.
• SOHO Labels & Envelopes and SOHO Business Cards: Both applications from Chronos add Tiger compatibility, among other changes, in their 1.3 versions.
• SpamSieve: Michael Tsai has updated his spam filtering software for Mac OS X e-mail clients, SpamSieve, to version 2.3. The new release adds compatibility for Mac OS X v10.4.
• Speed Download: Yazsoft’s download management software Speed Download is now at version 3.0.7. A new Speed Download plug-in has better compatibility with Tiger, there’s more support for Apple’s WebKit, and other improvements.
• StickyBrain: Chronos announced that StickyBrain 3.4.1, the latest version of its note taking software for Mac OS X, is Tiger-compatible. The free update is available for all registered users of StickyBrain 3.
• Strata 3D CX: Strata says it’s found a problem that prevents its Strata 3D CX software from running on Tiger. The company told customers to keep an eye on its Web page for a fix.
• SwitchXS, LayoutKitchen, and KeyStrokes: All three accessibility utilities from AssistiveWare add OS X 10.4 compatibility to bolster Tiger’s built-in accessibility features. The $299 SwitchXS 2.0—a free update for current users—is a major revision to the switch access solution for people who can’t use a mouse or keyboard that also adds the ability to trigger AppleScripts to perform multiple actions with a single button. LayoutKitchen 1.0 is a new product that offers a layout editor for SwitchXS scan panels.
• Synk: Ben Rister has released Synk v5.1, an update to the backup, synchronization and archival tool. Previous versions worked with Tiger but this versions offers additional support for the OS, allowing backups of Tiger-based systems to run more smoothly.
• TextSoap: Unmarked Software released TextSoap v4.1.1, a Tiger-compatible update for its text processing utility. The new release also addresses an ongoing crash in the custom cleaner editor.
• Timbuktu Pro: Netopia has released Timbuktu Pro v8.1, an updated version of its remote control and network management software for Mac OS X systems. The new release is Tiger-compatible, and supports desktop search and high-def video technology, according to Netopia. Other new features include upgraded keyboard fidelity and key mapping, improved cross-platform keyboard mapping when controlling a Windows host, more efficient screen data and faster screen sharing and file exchange over secure connections.
• Time Navigator Enterprise Edition: Atempo says the enterprise-class data protection product supports OS X 10.4. Atempo also plans to provide a Time Navigator widget that will let users launch and perform data protection services from within Tiger’s Dashboard feature.
• Torque Game Engine: The multiplatform 3-D gaming technology called Torque Game Engine gets Tiger support, according to its creator, GarageGames. Torque has been used to create Marble Blast, Orbz, ThinkTanks, Dark Horizons Lore: Invasion and other games for the Mac and PC.
• Transmit: Panic’s popular FTP software client for Mac OS X Transmit gets improved Tiger compatibility with a new 3.1 release, as well as a new Safari-like Queue window, improved SFTP transfer speeds and more. Free for Transmit 3 owners, Transmit 3.1 costs US$29.95 to register.
• TypeIt4Me: Ricardo Ettore’s TypeIt4Me has been updated to v2.2 for Tiger support. New to this release is support for a Tiger-only feature that allows you to check your spelling as you type in the Edit Entries dialog.
• UltraLingua: UltraLingua has released UltraLingua v5.0.9, an update to its bilingual and monolingual dictionary software. The new release features a Dashboard widget that lets users run translations or look up words on the fly.
• Unison: Panic’s Usenet newsreader Unison gets a 1.6.1 maintenance release that “fixes a few minor Tiger issues” and improves the display of partially-read message threads. Free for Unison owners, Unison 1.6.1 costs $24.95 to register.
• Unsanity: Unsanity has released Tiger-compatible version of their “haxies” for Mac OS X, including FontCard, FruitMenu, WindowShade X and Xounds. Also updated are Application Enhancer and Application Enhancer SDK, as well as ClearDock.
• Vector NTI Suite <: Invitrogen has bad news for bioscientists who have been depending on their Vector NTI Suite 7.1 software — it’s not Tiger-compatible, and according to a recent statement by the company, there are no plans to update it to make it so. Support will continue for customers that continue to use VectorNTI through OS X 10.3.
• VelaTerra: Vela Design Group has released VelaTerra 1.0.2, an update to the almanac and world clock now with Tiger support. The developer has also released a VelaClock Dashboard widget.
• Virtual PC: Microsoft’s PC emulation software for the Mac, Virtual PC, has a few problems — Virtual Switch, Zero Configuration Priting and the Dock Start Menu are problem areas for the 7.0.1 release. Microsoft expects to release an update within the next two to three months to correct these problems.
• VolumeWorks: SubRosaSoft.com LLC has released VolumeWorks v1.3, a hard disk drive repartition tool. The new release touts improved performance and Tiger compatibility.
• WebDesign: Rage Software has updated WebDesign to v2.6.1.The updated HTML source code editor adds the ability to customize syntax highlighting color as well as Tiger support.
• WinSwitch: WinSwitch is an open-source replacement for Apple’s Fast User Switching menu. The new 3.1 release is Tiger-compatible.
• Wolfram Notebook Indexer: Wolfram Research has released Notebook Indexer for Spotlight. The new plug-in lets Tiger users perform text searches of all the Wolfram Notebook documents on their local hard drives.
• XBack: Gideon Softworks’ XBack v3.4.1 has been updated for Tiger. It’s a utility that lets you replace your desktop image with a screensaver.
• xScope: Artis Software and The Iconfactory have released xScope v1.1, an updated version of the tool used to measure, compare, contrast and get information on page layouts, screen sizes, HTML colors and more. Numerous improvements and bug fixes have been made, including improved usability for Tiger.
• Yasu: Jim Mitchell Designs has released Yasu 1.2b2, an update to its OS X maintenance utility now with Tiger support. Yasu provides access to commonly used maintenance functions that can otherwise be executed using shell script commands through the Terminal application.
• Yummy FTP: Yummy Software’s FTP client for Mac OS X Yummy FTP will be updated to a Tiger-compatible version on Monday, if all goes well — the company had hoped to release a Tiger update on Friday but a last-minute bug found by beta testers foiled their plans.
