Salling Software AB announced the release Wednesday of Salling Clicker v2.2.1, an updated version of their Bluetooth remote control software for the Mac that has been tested for compatibility with Mac OS X v10.4 “Tiger.” The new release also gains support for newer phones, and offers other minor tweaks. What’s more, the developer hinted at what’s to come with a major 3.0 release due this summer.
Salling Clicker transforms a Bluetooth-compatible cell phone, PDA or mother other mobile device into a two-way remote control for your Macintosh. Using Salling Clicker you can operate slideshows using Keynote and PowerPoint, manage iTunes, search your iPhoto library and much more, thanks to its support of AppleScript. It requires a Mac equipped with Bluetooth, a compatible cell phone or PDA and Mac OS X v10.2.8 or greater.
Salling Software president Jonas Salling said in a statement that the forthcoming 3.0 release will greatly expand Clicker’s capabilities with support for new devices and new functionality. The upgrade will be free for existing customers.
