Nyko Technologies on Wednesday announced that it is shipping the iTop, a button relocator for Apple’s iPod. The device relocates standard controls from the face of the iPod to its top, making it easy to change tracks, play and pause even if the iPod is in a bag or a pocket, without having to fumble for an in-line remote control.
The iTop features jeweled buttons, each with a unique texture to make them recognizable by touch. It also includes a Hold switch to prevent accidental button depressions. The iTop works without batteries. It’s molded in white and metal, and works with all full-sized iPods that have a remote connector on their top. The iTop costs US$29.99 and is available from major retail outlets and electronics stores.
