Apple’s .Mac got an overhaul on Friday, with the pending release of Mac OS X v10.4 “Tiger,” due out at 6 p.m. local time.
Seamless data synchronization using .Mac is a major feature of the new operating system, and .Mac’s home page has been redesigned to leverage this functionality. The home page now displays information about your .Mac e-mail account, lets you search your address book, displays calendar information and offers info about your HomePage web sites.
What’s more, tutorials explaining how best to leverage Tiger and .Mac have been posted to the .Mac home page. And the page also has a placeholder for .Mac-exclusive Tiger widgets, listed as “coming soon.”
