DanLabGames has released Jammin’ Racer, a new 3D arcade-style racing game for Mac OS X. The full game features a total of 24 tracks distributed among six different “cups” you can compete for, complete with varying environments like beach, mountains, prehistoric, space-age, desert and urban. You can compete against the computer or against another player using the same computer, as well.
You can create your own custom racer by choosing different body styles, paint designs, and even give your driver a custom look. Making your way around the track, you can collect performance enhancing bonuses that will boost your vehicle’s top end speed. OpenGL-based 3D graphics offer some customization options to help tweak the game’s performance based on your Mac’s capabilities, but base system requirements are fairly modest: G3/800MHz or faster, Mac OS X v10.2 or higher and a 32MB video system. Support is also provided for gamepads and steering wheels, including force-feedback or rumble support.
You can download and play a track-limited demo. If you like what you see, DanLabGames charges US$25 to register the full version.
