Neon Software Inc. has announced LANsurveyor 8.5 for Macintosh, an upgrade to their software for monitoring, diagramming, and remotely managing computer networks. New in this release is support for Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)-based Voice over IP (VoIP) clients, as well as support for Mac OS X v10.4 “Tiger.”
SIP support allows LANsurveyor to discover and diagram telephones, video conferencing systems and other devices that support SIP. The switch report can identify exactly where SIP devices are connected. LANsurveyor can now also discover and map Microsoft networking NetBIOS clients. Other new features include new alert methods of “launch application” and “log to syslog,” built in Remote Desktop Client screen sharing, color graphic representation of network link speed and more.
LANsurveyor 8.5 costs from US$495 for the 20-client version to $12,500 for the unlimited-use enterprise edition. Upgrade pricing begins at $199.
