UK-based iPod accessory maker PodGear on Thursday launched the Shuffle Station, a speaker system designed especially for Apple’s iPod shuffle. The system features external amplified speakers and the ability to charge the iPod shuffle. It costs £34.99 (US$66.64).
The Shuffle Station runs on 4 AAA batteries and can also be connected to a wall outlet. An iPod shuffle attached to the Shuffle Station charges using a USB cable that goes from the back of the Shuffle Station to the USB port of the iPod shuffle, which rests aloft when it’s connected, according to PodGear spokesman Ross Perrin. The speakers can be folded up when the system’s not in use, for portability.
The Shuffle Station includes an audio adapter for the iPod shuffle, USB charging adapter, 240V AC adapter (you’ll need another adapter to use it in the U.S.) carrying case and instructions.
