Belkin Corp. on Monday announced new FireWire and USB 2.0 hubs designed with Apple’s Mac mini in mind. The new Hi-Speed USB 2.0 4-Port Hub and Hi-Speed USB 2.0 and FireWire 6-Port Hub for Mac mini feature front ports and a stackable design to help conserve desktop space. They will begin shipping on July 15, 2005, according to Belkin.
The US$34.95 Hi-Speed USB 2.0 4-Port Hub for Mac mini has two USB 2.0 ports on its front for easy access to plug in an iPod shuffle or other peripherals and devices, and two more on its back. The Hi-Speed USB 2.0 and FireWire 6-Port Hub for Mac mini will cost $49.95. It looks similar to the USB 2.0 hub, but it features one USB 2.0 and one FireWire 400 port on its front. It has another FireWire port and three USB 2.0 ports on its rear.
Belkin’s Web site had not been updated with information about the new hubs as MacCentral posted this article.
